AFC President Shaikh Salman condoles the demise of Sultan Ahmed (Mohammedan Sporting)!

AFC president Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa sent his condolence message after the untimely demise of Mohammedan Sporting Club president Sultan Ahmed who passed away having suffered a cardiac arrest in Kolkata on Monday, September 4.

In his condolence message to the All India Football Federation president Praful Patel, Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa conveyed his “heartfelt condolences” on Sultan Ahmed’s demise.

The letter, as quoted by Sheikh Salman, says, “Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the demise of the ‘Mohammedan Sporting Club’ President – Sultan Ahmed, who tragically passed away of cardiac arrest earlier today (September 04, 2017).”

“Sultan Ahmed was an able administrator and will be remembered for his passion and contributions for Indian football.”

“I would appreciate if you can please convey my sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time,” the letter by the AFC President stated.

Sultan Ahmed was the General Secretary of Mohammedan Sporting Club from 2001 to 2009 before becoming a Member of the Indian Parliament. Since then, the astute Football Administrator served the club as the Honorary President until the day he passed away.
