The Health Medical Services (HMS) – FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence Dubai, hosted for the third time, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President’s Travelling Fellow for Football Medicine (TFFM) Batch 2020 from January 14 to 19, 2023.
The reputed institution became the latest to join the elite group of medical centres to be recognised as an AFC Medical Clinic of Excellence.
Besides field visits to the United Arab Emirates Football Association (UAE FA) headquarters and regional clubs, the travelling fellows were given the opportunity to learn the industry’s best practices from renowned healthcare professionals through several educational and interactive activities which covered different aspects of the medical fields.
On January 19, the medical institution hosted the half-day long Football Medical Symposium followed by the official launch of HMS as an accredited AFC Medical Centre of Excellence.
Dato’ Dr. Gurcharan Singh, Chairperson of the AFC Medical Committee congratulated and thanked all who were present.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Andrew Massey, Director, FIFA Medical Office, Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed Al Hashimi, Chairman, UAE FA Medical Committee, Dr. Mourad Ghairi, Chief Medical Officer of HMS and other distinguished guests from the UAE FA, members from the local sports council and health departments.
