The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) celebrated the concerted efforts of its Member Associations (MAs) in strengthening the standards of the beautiful game on the Continent at the AFC Technical Endorsement Presentation Ceremony in Doha on Tuesday, October 31.
Held in conjunction with the AFC Annual Awards Doha 2022, the ceremony witnessed the AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa presenting ceremonial certificates to MAs that have been endorsed under the Confederation’s breakthrough technical programmes – the AFC Grassroots Charter, the AFC Coaching Convention, and the AFC Elite Youth Scheme.
AFC Technical Director Andy Roxburgh said: “Asia is home to the largest youth population in the world and it is heartening to see our MAs invest so much of their time and resources into player development, both at the grassroots level and in the elite youth sector. In addition, the MA’s efforts in coach education, via AFC’s Coaching Convention, is commendable and vital for the future of the game.
“These benchmark endorsements not only serve as an impetus to continue building on the hard work, but they also have a long-term impact on their national teams and professional clubs.”
The certificates presented to the Member Associations are as follows:
• AFC Coaching Convention Pro Level, AFC Elite Youth Scheme 3-Star Level and AFC Grassroots Charter Gold Level
