AFC women match officials selected for 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup – Costa Rica!

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will be well represented by its world-class women match officials at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup – Costa Rica from August 10 to 28.

In total, eight match officials – two referees, four assistant referees and two video match officials – from five AFC Member Associations have been appointed to the global showpiece.

Lara Lee from Australia and Kim Yu Jeong from South Korea, who officiated in the Algarve Cup 2022 Final, have been selected as referees alongside assistant referees Truong Thi Le Trinh from Vietnam, Heba Saadieh from Palestine, Ramina Tsoi from Kyrgyz Republic and Park Mi Suk from South Korea.

Australians Kate Jacewicz and Sarah Ho will join them as VAR and Assistant VAR respectively in the tournament that will utilise the video technology for the first time in a FIFA youth women’s competition.

The AFC contingent are among 54 match officials selected to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup from five other Confederations.
