The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is encouraging individuals looking to leave their mark on Asian football management to register for the Football Management Certificate (FMC) and Football Management Diploma (FMD) online programmes.
The third edition of the landmark programmes are scheduled to kick off in May 2022 and will comprise best-in-class lectures, engaging discussions, and high-level business presentations. Both offer comprehensive curriculums that nurture the skill sets in core areas of football management, inculcate industry knowledge and strengthen capabilities to plan, execute and monitor daily operations.
The FMC targets aspiring leaders aiming to contribute to the development of the game and raise standards across the board while the FMD caters to the middle, future senior and higher management of the AFC’s Members and Regional Associations as well as independent stakeholders.
The programmes are designed in collaboration with the AFC’s academic partner – the world-renowned Football Business Academy (FBA) in Switzerland.
FMC participants undergo 290 hours of study in nine core modules. These consist of Organisation of World Football, Strategic Management, Financial Management, Income Generation, Media & Communications, Event Management, Operational Management, Human Resource Management and Child Safeguarding.
Meanwhile, the FMD sessions, held over 13 months with 460 hours of study time, contain 12 core modules. Aside from those covered by the FMC, its three additional modules comprise International Sports Federations, Sports Law and Club Licensing. Additionally, the Child Safeguarding module covers the topic of Social Responsibility.
First launched in 2021, the FMC and FMD are part of the AFC Academic Centre of Excellence (ACE), a virtual education platform launched in September 2021 to develop future leaders.
Prospective participants of the FMC and FMD have until April 22, 2022, to submit their applications. To register or for more details, please email academy@the-afc.com.
