AIFF Elite Academy beat Tata Football Academy in a friendly!

A splendid second hattrick by Rahim Ali led the AIFF U-19 Colts to a 4-0 win over Tata Football Academy at the Benaulim Ground in Goa on Sunday, January 8. The Colts led 1-0 at half-time.

In the 13th minute, the AIFF Colts were awarded a penalty after Edmund danced around the penalty box, but was rattled by an uncanny tackle leading the referee to point to the spot. Edmund easily converted from the spot and slotted the back into the back of the net to give the colts a solitary goal lead.

After the half-time scoreline read 1-0 in the AIFF Colts’ favour, the ‘boys in blue’ turned on the style and scored three goals in the second half of the match.

The colts struck two minutes into the second half and in the 47th minute Rahim Ali blasted the ball into the back of the net to double the advantage after he controlled a long ball from the AIFF Colts’ defending half with sheer acumen.

Rahim Ali’s two goals next in two minutes completed the rout for the AIFF Colts in the dying embers of the match. After controlling a Tluanga pass, Ali cut into the penalty box and unleashed a left footed shot which tripled the goal scoring tally for the AIFF Colts in the 90th minute.

A minute later, Ali completed his hattrick as this time he controlled an Amal Das long ball, only to beat the opposition defender and drive the ball. The full-time scoreline read 4-0 in the AIFF Colts’ favour.
