AIFF president Praful Patel meets East Bengal & Mohun Bagan representatives in Mumbai!

The All India Football Federation President Praful Patel on Saturday, May 6 met representatives of the Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan AC and East Bengal Club in Mumbai.

Mr. Patel informed the club representatives that the revised roadmap of India football has not yet been finalised and before a final decision is taken, stakeholders including the Asian Football Confederation would be consulted. Indian football has made rapid progress over the last few years and it’s important for AIFF to take a long term view. The AIFF has been in discussion with AFC and will do what’s in the interest of Indian football.

The meeting had been much anticipated after both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan had raised questions about some of the points in the franchise contract offered to them to join the Indian Super League, which in the coming seasons is supposed to become India’s top tier of league football.
