AIFF to look into age fraud allegations against Jamshedpur FC’s Gourav Mukhi!

Jamshedpur FC youngster Gourav Mukhi was a hero on Sunday night as he scored his first goal for the Steelmen in the ISL against Bengaluru FC.

The news was that he is still only 16 years old thereby becoming the youngest-ever goalscorer in the history of the Indian Super League, but social media nowadays can be helpful to find out the potential truth about how out someone this.

And soon people pulled out old information about Gourav Mukhi and four fellow Jharkhand U-16 footballers being suspended by the AIFF from the U-16 Nationals after they won the tournament for being overage. Now his age is even lower than that.

The AIFF in a statement said:

Jamshedpur FC player Gourav Mukhi who had earlier given a declaration that his DOB was 04/05/1999 has now submitted documents to the CRS system referring that his DOB is 04/05/2002.

The Centralised Registration System (CRS) which registers in-detailed information of every single player for AIFF was not implemented for the National Championships and the State Associations in 2015, but later.

The discrepancy in the DOBs will be referred to the relevant committee for further appropriate action.
