AIFF U-19 Academy beats Vasco SC 4-2 in friendly!

aiff-u-19-academyThe AIFF Under-19 Academy boys scored a commanding 4-2 victory against Vasco SC at the artificial turf of the Fatorda Stadium in Goa on Thursday, September 15. The AIFF Academy boys were leading 1-0 at the end of the first half and they kept up the ante in the second up to snatch a 4-2 victory.

The AIFF Academy boys did not need to wait more than 12 minutes to find the back of the net when Edmund outfoxed the marker and jammed the ball past the Vasco SC goalkeeper. After the lemon break, the boys doubled the lead from a curling corner by Zama which was headed home by Minga.

Vasco SC tried to recuperate themselves after the second goal and they broke the deadlock in the 67th minute. The complexion of the game changed when Vasco SC scored the equaliser, all thanks to a miss-judged ball by Jayananda. The clock was showing 80 minutes then.

The AIFF Academy boys shrugged off the equaliser and hit the gas once again. After 5 minutes, Pratap netted the third goal for them from a cutting edge through ball by Edmund.

With three minutes left in regulation time, Edmund took on his own to go on scoring the fourth goal, having nailed the final one in the Vasco SC’s coffin.
