AIFF Youth Cup: South Korea beat Malaysia 3-0 in their opening encounter!

AIFF Youth Cup - South Korea - MalaysiaSouth Korea registered a 3-0 over Malaysia in their first match of the AIFF Youth Cup at the Tilak Maidan in Vasco, Goa on Tuesday, May 17. The winners led 2-0 at half-time.

The first goal came in the 24th minute when Kim Chaewoon followed it inside the box, sidestepped his marker and placed it in. The lead was doubled ten minutes later by Park Jeongin in the 34th minute.

Changing over, the match was mainly confined to the midfield. The easiest chance fell to South Korea’s Cheon Seonghoon in injury-time but with only the rival Goalkeeper to beat he hit the post, and even blasted it into the post off the rebound.

Barely a minute later, South Korea scored their third goal – Jeon Wooram hitting the target.

Malaysia were reduced to 10-men when Xsevier Felex was given marching orders.
