After seeing their winning run came to a halt with a loss in round 4, Aizawl FC were able to get back on track with a resounding 4-0 victory over Chanmari FC.
The defending champions were on top throughout the 90 minutes of football at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium against the two time champions.
New signing R. Ramdinthara opened the scoring for Aizawl FC in the first half after he was set up by K. Lalrinfela.
R. Lalthanmawia then added a second early on in the second half which was followed by a strike from K. Lalrinfela. The onslaught was completed by R. Lalthanmawia who scored his second of the day in stoppage time.
The result sees Aizawl FC currently extending their lead after round 5 by four points.
