Former I-League champions Aizawl FC and their head coach Stanley Rozario have mutually agreed to terminate the coaches contract as he won’t be able to join his club side during the ongoing I-League campaign due to personal family commitments.
Aizawl FC in an official statement on Monday wrote, “Presently, Mr Standly is not able to join the club in the ongoing season due to personal family commitments (Daughter’s Wedding) for which his presence is required. Understanding his concern, the club have agreed to mutually part ways with him.”
The experienced Rozario has been assistant coach of the Indian national team besides being head coach of a number of I-League and Second Division League clubs.
Rozario had tested positive for COVID-19 in September 2020 and since then has recovered from his infection.
Rozario had joined Aizawl FC in January 2019 and since he kept them in the I-League, won the Mizoram Premier League before finishing seventh in the I-League. Since joining the People’s Club, six players have left Aizawl FC to join an Indian Super League side.
