Arsenal & Leicester City to play Premier League & ISL Youth Games 2019!

Youth teams of Arsenal FC and Leicester City FC will be in India to take part in the ongoing Premier League and Indian Super League Youth Games 2019. The showpiece event is a part of the inaugural Premier League Football Development Week, which is being held in Mumbai from March 3-6.

The event will see 40 players from the youth academies of Arsenal and Leicester City compete against youth teams of the Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) and Hero ISL club Mumbai City FC. Both teams landed in India on March 3. The Arsenal FC and Leicester City FC youth teams are under 14 years age group, while the Mumbai City FC and RFYC academy teams are under 15 age category. The Youth Games kick off on March 5 with Leicester City facing off against Mumbai City, followed by Arsenal taking on RFYC.

On March 6, four matches are scheduled – Arsenal vs Mumbai City, Leicester City vs RFYC, Mumbai City vs RFYC and Arsenal vs Leicester City. All the matches will be held at the Reliance Corporate Park in Navi Mumbai. Premier League great Les Ferdinand will be in attendance to provide inputs and advise to the budding youngsters. The event presents the perfect opportunity for budding talents honing their skills at the RFYC and Mumbai City academy to test their mettle and development against top quality international opponents like Arsenal and Leicester City.

The inaugural edition of the Premier League Football Development Week is a part of the Premier League’s aim to enhance its strategic partnership with the Hero ISL with a special focus on grassroots and youth development. The event will also include a variety of best practice workshops, coach and referee training interventions, forums and planning meetings with key stakeholders to strengthen development work in Indian football.

All the matches will be streamed on the Hero ISL Facebook page and JIO TV.
