The AFF Cup scheduled for later this year has been postponed to 2021, the ASEAN Football Federation announced on Thursday, July 30.
The regional body said the postponement was due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.
AFF said the health and safety of the players, coaches, partners, fans and the public were of the highest priority, and the decision to postpone the tournament to 2021 would safeguard the well-being of everyone involved.
The AFF Cup Task Force Committee held extensive discussions before reaching the decision.
Vietnam emerged champions in 2018 after defeating Malaysia in the final.
