Kolkata giants ATK Mohun Bagan have announced the contract extension of their Spanish head coach Juan Ferrando for the 2022/23 season.
Juan Ferrando had joined the Mariners mid-season leaving rivals FC Goa and since his arrival, ATK Mohun Bagan have only lost two of their 16 matches, just missing out of the ISL-8 final against eventual champions Hyderabad FC.
Juan Ferrando said, “I am very grateful to Dr Goenka, Club owner, and the Club Management, for trusting and respecting my work. I had a detailed post-season wrap-up chat with Dr Goenka and we share the same goal and same ideas on what we want and how we want it. After the ISL season, we started to count down the minutes to play in the Yuva Bharati (Krirangan). We are waiting to feel the warmth of the Mariners.”
With the AFC Cup qualifiers and then potentially the group stage to be played in a few weeks, ATK Mohun Bagan will be back in training on Friday, April 1 before playing their qualifier on April 12.
