Indian Super League champions ATK Mohun Bagan have announced the return of Spanish defender Tiri to the club on a one year contract.
29 year old Los Barrios-born José Luis Espinosa Arroyo, better known as Tiri, started his football with Cadiz CF before at youth level and then continued at their ‘B’ team making only one appearance for the clubs senior team.
In 2012 he moved to Atletico de Madrid but again to a clubs ‘B’ team and in 2015 he was send on loan to India to play for then called Atletico de Kolkata in ISL-2. He returned to Atletico ‘B’ before rejoining Atletico de Kolkata for ISL-3 and winning the title with them in 2016.
After the triumph in India, Tiri joined Marbella FC in the first half of 2017 to play for them in the Spanish Segunda División B, the third tier of Spanish football.
He returned to join newcomers Jamshedpur FC in the second half of 2017 and spend three seasons with the Steelmen in which he went on to captain them but never reach the ISl playoffs.
Tiri said, “I am really happy to come back to a club and city where I already have amazing memories. I have won with the club before and I would love to win again, this time in maroon and green.”
“The fans are great and the Mariners have such a beautiful history which I am excited to represent,” Tiri added.
