Austria flag, Japanese animation & No.20: Valentino Lazaro designs own adidas boot!

The craziest shoe in the Bundesliga dribbled through the Berlin Olympic Stadium on the opening Matchday 2018/19 – at the feet of Valentino Lazaro: The striker from Hertha BSC designed his own football boot together with supplier adidas during the summer break. The unique model of Glitch debuted in the home game against 1.FC Nuremberg on Saturday, August 25.

For a year now, the Innovation Glitch has caused a stir on Germany’s football fields: thanks to the modular concept, players can change the look of their shoes in an instant. In addition to the regular liner, the adidas model has an extra outer skin – these skins can be variably inserted and replaced. The basic idea for the product as well as the designs of numerous skins were developed and tested together with a community of young footballers from all over Europe.

Also the shoe by Valentino Lazaro is a co-creation with the Berlin Glitch Community and designers of adidas. The result is the very personal design in the summer break of the Bundesliga in the context of a several-hour creative workshop in the Berlin performance store of the brand with the three stripes.

The ideas and wishes of Valentino Lazaro were then filigree handcrafted by the designers in Herzogenaurach on the shoe and refined into an extraordinary individual piece: The area above the heel adorns the Austrian flag with the inscription of his hometown of Graz and his jersey number 20 and the Community hashtag #GLITCHFAM. On the outside, an illustration is reminiscent of the anime series “Dragon Ball” with the initials of Lazaro’s family.

“Keeping the end product in your hands is something special,” said the Austrian Valentino Lazaro.
