Avondale Football Group & LALIGA sign MoU!

Avondale Football Group (AFG) and LALIGA are pleased to announce the formalisation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the parties to elevate the game through mutual collaborations. The agreement heralds an exciting new era for growth in Australian football.

Avondale FC are the current champions of Victoria and were recently granted a license for the newly formed National Second Division from 2025. With the objective of collaboration through bilateral relations, the MOU will amplify the flow of knowledge & expertise from LALIGA – the largest football ecosystem in the world – into the Australian club. Both parties will work towards growing football participation and improving youth development pathways for aspiring boys and girls across Victoria.

Iván Codina, Managing Director of LALIGA for Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea and Australia said, “We are thrilled to embark on this exciting journey with Avondale FC to elevate football development at this crucial moment in their history in Australian professional football, taking advantage of the experience we have after more than 90 years leading professional football in Spain, and more specifically in the six years that LALIGA has been in the country.
