German Bundesliga champions FC Bayern Munich today announced the signing of the goalkeeper Alexander Nübel for the upcoming 2020/21 season.
The Bavarian club and Nübel have agreed the terms of a transfer in the last few days after the keeper had announced recently that he would leave FC Schalke 04 on a free transfer in the summer. The 23-year-old Alexander Nübel’s contract with FC Schalke 04 expires on June 30, 2020.
Alexander Nübel, who is regarded as the new Manuel Neuer, will join FC Bayern on a free transfer on a five year contract on July 1, 2020.
But it will be interesting to watch how Nübel will fit into the Bayern Munich goalkeeper plans with Germany No.1 Manuel Neuer playing at the top of his game and wanting to extend his contract until 2023. So the question remains, if Nübel would be willing to sit on the Bayern bench for three seasons.
