Bayern Munich extends Josip Stanisic contract until 2026!

Defender Josip Stanisic has signed a contract extension at FC Bayern Munich till summer 2026. The 22-year-old Croatia international, who will compete at this year’s FIFA World Cup, joined the club at U-17 level in 2017 and has been with the first team since 2021.

Board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic said, “Josip Stanisic has established himself in our senior squad over the past two years, and that’s also credit to our youth academy because Josip was trained by us at the Campus. He’s versatile in where he can play, performs well when needed. His reliability helps our coach and the team. I’m happy we can plan further with him for the long term.”

Josip Stanisic said, “This contract extension is a nice vote of confidence from FC Bayern, which I’d like to repay and which motivates me a lot for my further development. As someone born in Munich, it’s a dream to be able to play in this shirt. My goal is to win as many titles as possible with FC Bayern.”

Stanisic joined from SC Fürstenfeldbruck and has so far made 29 competitive appearances for the Bayern first team, scoring one goal. He has won two Bundesliga titles and DFL Supercups each, while he was also part of the reserves team that won the third division title in 2020. The former Germany youth international made his senior debut for Croatia last year and has earned six caps to date. He will compete at a World Cup for the first time this winter.
