Bayern Munich sign Croatia teenage sensation Lovro Zvonarek!

FC Bayern Munich has already made a transfer for the coming summer. The Croatian talent Lovro Zvonarek (May 8, 2005) joins from first division club Slaven Belupo to the German record Bundesliga champions. The 16-year-old attacking midfielder completed the medical check in Munich on Thursday and signed a long-term contract.

“Lovro was with us on campus for a trial training session in the spring. We have not only been convinced of his great development potential since these days and are very pleased that he has decided to move to FC Bayern,” said FCB campus director Jochen Sauer.

Zvonarek is already part of the first team squad at Slaven Belupo. At the age of 16 years and 14 days he scored his first goal in the Croatian first division. With Belupo, Zvonarek will continue to “gain important experience at a high level in men’s football,” explains Holger Seitz, sports director on campus, and adds, “We are convinced that it is currently the best for his personal development. That’s one of the reasons why we only signed him for the new season.”

Zvonarek, who was on the Säbener Strasse as well as the campus on Thursday, is already looking forward to the new challenge in Munich. “FC Bayern is one of the largest and most successful clubs in the world. To play here in the future and to be able to wear this shirt makes me proud. And it also encourages me to work hard on myself every day,” said Lovro Zvonarek.
