Simon Grayson said his Bengaluru FC side will leave nothing to chance when they take on Hyderabad FC at the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Bengaluru FC, who come into this fixture off the back of a 2-3 defeat to Odisha FC earlier in the week, take on the Nawabs, who are yet to record a win this season.
“Hyderabad FC have been at the other end of the table in recent seasons, and have been a very difficult team to play over the years. There’s been a big change at the club, but they’ve proved in their most recent game that they have quality in their ranks and can give us problems,” said Grayson.
The hosts, who roped in Irish Head Coach Conor Nestor over the summer, picked up their only point of the campaign so far in their most recent encounter, a 1-1 draw against Mumbai City FC at the Mumbai Football Arena. Grayson maintained that, despite their tough start to the campaign, form will play no role in the outcome of Saturday’s fixture.
“We’re respectful of Hyderabad FC, as we are of any side in the League. Our preparation for this game will be thorough, as it has been throughout the season. I feel we have to manage the games a little better as a team, and that’s something we’ve relayed to the players,” Grayson added.
Bengaluru FC will be without Naorem Roshan Singh for this fixture, with the full-back having picked up a second suspension of the season for two bookable offences against Odisha FC. Winger Halicharan Narzary and Rohit Danu will return to their former club for the first time since making the switch to Bengaluru FC in the summer.
Kick-off between Hyderabad FC and Bengaluru FC is scheduled for 5:30pm IST and will be telecast live on Jio Cinema and across the Sports18 Network.
