Jamshedpur FC suffered another hard-fought loss against Bengaluru FC. An early goal from Danish Farooq ensured a narrow 1-0 win for the hosts on their home turf at the Kanteerava.
Jamshedpur FC head coach Aidy Boothroyd made three changes in his starting line-up. Pratik Chaudhari was brought back in the defence along with Farukh and Jitendra in the midfield. The gaffer started with a 4-4-2 formation with Ishan Pandita and Rafael Crivellaro as the target men upfront.
The host started the game well with an early lead within the 5th minute of the game. Danish Farooq found the back of the net with a shot on target from the edge of the box
In spite of suffering the quick setback from the hosts, the men of steel maintained their shape well across the pitch. The Aidy Boothroyd-managed side kept on pressing hard on Bengaluru looking for an equalizer.
Ishan Pandita got the first chance of the evening with an on-target volley. But the BFC custodian stretched well with the right reflex to push it out of the net. Jamshedpur got back into the game as they created a couple of good chances in the first half but failed to find the back of the net.
Going into the lemon break the score line remained the same with Bengaluru having the lead.
Coming back in the second half the men of steel kept on looking for chances to find the equaliser.
Aidy introduced Chima and Harry in the later part of the game replacing Farukh and Crivellaro respectively. The Jamshedpur FC forward force including Ishan, Chima and Harry got some good chances inside the box but the BFC defenders were lucky and stern enough to overcome all odds.
In the end, all the efforts turned out to be not enough as the men of steel were unable to find the back of the net in this fixture.
After this loss, Jamshedpur FC continue to be placed ninth in the league table with just four points from 10 matches.
Jamshedpur FC next plays FC Goa at the home on December 22.
