Bengaluru FC win 5-1 against Bangalore United FC!

Bengaluru FC won their fourth game on the trot in the BDFA Super Division League with a 5-1 victory over Bangalore United FC at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Thursday. Goals from Monirul Molla (14′), Thoi Singh (22′), Kamalesh (45′,82′) and Ankith P (73′) sealed three points for the Blue Colts, who are now placed fifth on the League table, with five wins in six games.

Bengaluru FC put pressure on the opponents from the get-go with an attack in the opening exchanges. Bekey Oram managed to take a shot from outside the box but his effort flew just wide of the post. In the 14th minute, a low cross from Bekey found Molla, who took a touch before smashing it over the line off the crossbar, to give Bengaluru FC the lead.

The Blue Colts managed to double their lead against the run of play when Damaitphang Lyngdoh’s searching pass found Thoi, who lobbed it over Ashutosh Chettri between the BUFC sticks to make it 2-0. Only a minute later, Bangalore United FC pulled one back courtesy of Jeevith KN, who managed to get a shot away only moments after the restart.

Inching closer to the break, Bekey’s cross into a crowded 18-yard-box found Kamalesh, who managed to poke the ball into the back of the net from close range. Into the second period, the Blue Colts continued to put pressure on the BUFC backline and came close to adding to the lead on multiple occasions.

Van Loon brought on Shighil NS in place of Molla, and Bengaluru found their fourth courtesy of Ankith, who breezed past his marker before clipping the ball over the Chettri with a composure to make it 1-4. With less than ten minutes left to play, Kamalesh grabbed his brace, latching onto Tomthinganba’s low cross and tapping it home.

Bengaluru FC next face Roots FC on October 11 at the same venue.
