Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools qualify for U-18 I-League finals!

The Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools are the champions of U-18 I-League’s preliminary – Delhi Zone and have qualified for the final round.

A BBFS team started out for the first time in the biggest and most competitive age group tournament of our country.

But things did not start off well, suffering a loss in the first group match itself. The BBFS boys regrouped and analysed their performance to understand the misgivings. The coaching staff altered the tactics and motivated the team to realise its potential while taking one game at a time.

This resulted in a tremendous turnaround as the team started dominating matches winning four in a row and thus became the champions of the Delhi zone of the U-18 I-League with a game to spare.

The team will now meet the champions and runners-up of other zones in the national finals which will feature youth teams of Mohun Bagan AC, East Bengal Club, Bengaluru FC, FC Pune City, Royal Wahingdoh FC – Shillong, Shillong Lajong FC, DSK Shivajians FC, AIFF Elite Academy amongst others.

The qualification for the U-18 I-League national finals is a proud moment for the entire BBFS training program and huge credit goes to co-founder Bhaichung Bhutia for the continued support in the process.
