PUMA and Borussia Mönchengladbach can present the Foals’ new home shirt for the coming season. The global sports company from Herzogenaurach remains true to its design inspiration and skilfully combines tradition, innovation and modernity. The shirt features the logo of the main sponsor Flatex on the chest. The Foals will wear the kit for the first time in today’s home match against FC Augsburg.
The 1970s were Borussia’s most successful decade. During this period, Borussia were German champions five times, won the UEFA cup twice and the DFB-Pokal once. Puma celebrates these times of success and glory by taking the retro look of the classic shirt from this period and using a polo neck and coloured details in club colours in the flat-knitted collar. The design has a timelessness while also paying homage to shirt designs of the 1990s. Meanwhile, the campaign mantra of the new home shirt underpins Borussia’s values: standing up for what is right, standing together against adversity and drawing energy from a passion and belief in the club, both on and off the pitch.
“We are not only connected to Borussia Mönchengladbach through our successful history, but also through the successful revival of our partnership in recent years. With our joint shirt designs, we therefore bridge the gap between inspirations from the past and new product innovations. We are proud to start another season of our partnership together with Borussia and look forward to the new season with anticipation,” said Martin Ulber, Puma’s head of Sports Marketing Central Europe. “We really like the appearance of the new home shirt from Puma. One the one hand, it reminds us of the golden days of the club, but on the other it’s contemporary and modern design stands out,” said Guido Uhle, Borussia’s authorised officer.
