CAF GS opens Safety & Security Workshop, highlights CHAN 2020 exceptional importance!

CAF Acting General Secretary Abdelmounaim Bah highlighted the importance of the upcoming Total African Nations Championship (CHAN), Cameroon 2020 as an important tournament in exceptional conditions.

Bah addressed the CAF – CHAN Safety and Security Officers workshop in Yaoundé, stressing that this CHAN is coming amidst a global pandemic, which puts more responsibility to produce a successful event.

“Besides being one of our most important competitions, this CHAN a good rehearsal for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) that will also be played in Cameroon next year. We have a lot of work to do,” he said.

The workshop included presentations from CAF Director of Safety and Security Dr. Christian Emeruwa, besides other presentations from CAF various departments, namely Competitions, Medical, Commercial, IT and Communications, and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) on the various aspects of activations during the impending tournament.

The 6th edition of the Total African Nations Championship (CHAN), Cameroon 2020 kicks off on January 16, 2021 and lasts till February 7, 2021 in the cities of Yaoundé, Douala and Limbe.
