Calcutta Premier Division: East Bengal score 1-0 win over Tollygunge Agragami!

East Bengal - Calum AngusEast Bengal Club scored a lone goal victory over Tollygunge Agragami in their fifth Calcutta Football League’s Premier Division – A at the floodlit Barasat Municipal Stadium in Kolkata this evening.

Defending champions East Bengal moved to 15 points from five matches, while former NFL side Tollygunge Agragami remain on seven points from the same number of matches.

It was a difficult encounter for both sides due to the rains and the first half was a subdued affair though both teams had their chances but none could break the deadlock till the break.

Things changed in the second half with East Bengal’s introduction of Do Dong Hyun for Somide Adelaja and the red and gold now played with more purpose and urgency. The winner came in the 74th minute, when Calum Angus headed in a Mehtab Hossein cross. East Bengal thereafter could have scored more but the result stayed the same until the end of the match.
