CFL champions East Bengal score close 2-1 win over George Telegraph!

Eight-time defending champions East Bengal Club scored a hard earned 2-1 win over George Telegraph SC in the Calcutta Football League – Premier Division ‘A’ at the East Bengal ground on Wednesday evening.

The home side had more of the exchanges and chances but it was goalless at the break.

The second session continued in that format until George Telegraph SC took a surprise 1-0 lead in the 69th minute off a Justice Morgan long-ranger.

But the lead lasted only six minutes as Mehtab Singh headed in a Mahmoud Al Amna cross. It looked that the match was heading for a draw, when in added time, the red and gold scored the winner as a Kaushik Sarkar shot was saved but Kassim Aidara was there to score off the rebound.
