Chandigarh Youth League kicked off with Day 3 of matches today at Sector 17 Football Stadium. The Chandigarh Youth League is being organised from May 27 to June 11 by Minerva Punjab FC in association with Chandigarh Football Association and Mission XI Million at the Sector 17 Football Stadium.

Day Three of matches kicked off and teams of the 19 years and above, 16-18 years, 13-15 years and 9-12 years Age Groups played their third round of matches in the morning and evening at the Sector 17 Football Stadium in Chandigarh amidst a festive atmosphere. Matches were played in 7-a-side format and each team was mentored by a Minerva Punjab FC coach.

The special highlight of the day was when Minerva Punjab FC I-legaue players in Simranjeet, Ramandeep, Arshdeep and Manandeep visited the Sector 17 Football Stadium in the evening and had a meet and greet with all the budding footballers present at the stadium. They played an exhibition match with youngsters who were excited to meet the players they had been following on TV during the I-League to run up to shake hands and take selfies with their idols. The I-League players shook hands with all the players and gave away the Man of the match trophies to the kids.

Special games were held for parents who were accompanying the kids to the matches. They took part in Dizzy penalty challenge where they were to spin around with one hand on the ball before taking a penalty kick. Prizes were distributed for the winners of these fun and interactive games.

In the first match of the day of the 19 Years and above age group there were a tough and competitive match between Red Devils FC and CR7 FC. Both the teams were made up of experienced players who were keen for a good match, which started off in a brisk pace and though Red Devils FC may have been more flamboyant in their style, CR7 boys maintained a strict high pressing strategy and did not give Red Devils space to play. The match was a close one and ended up in favour of CR 7 who won it 1-0. Shivam was awarded Man of the Match trophy.

In another morning match of the 19 years and above Category Invincible FC defeated 7 Warrior FC 8-2 in fast paced and free flowing encounter. Akash was awarded Man of the match trophy.
