Changing the game with Manchester United Women & adidas!

On Sunday, March 27, Manchester United Women will take to the Old Trafford pitch to face Everton Women in the FA Women’s Super League, as Manchester United continue their quest to secure a UEFA Women’s Champions League spot.

To celebrate this highly-anticipated match, the team have linked up with adidas football to ensure it will be one to remember.

Ahead of the game, the brand with the three stripes met up with Manchester United’s adidas athletes: Mary Earps, Leah Galton, Alessia Russo, Maria Thorisdottir, Millie Turner and Katie Zelem. All of them have worked incredibly hard and have overcome obstacles to change the game as we know it.

Currently third in the FA Women’s Super League, Manchester United will be looking to build on the victories against Leicester and Reading earlier this month by beating Everton as we look to consolidate a place in the top three.

Coinciding with the match on March 27, adidas have launched their latest iteration of the Predator Edge boot. We all know about the old Predator, it’s one of the most iconic boots in the history of the beautiful game.

Originally bursting onto the scene in 1994, it quickly became part of football culture thanks to so many great moments that were made by those wearing them. After all, who could forget that goal David Beckham scored in his pair in 1996, from the halfway line against Wimbledon?

But adidas are back with something that hasn’t been seen before, something different for a new era of football. In this new era, we’re ditching the old football cliches and are striving for empowerment, inclusivity and expression for women, because this game is for all of us.

The new Predator Edge arrives in a striking blend of High-Res Blue and Turbo Red, and has state-of-the-art technology woven into its very fibres, which takes your game to a whole new level. Let’s explore the science behind it in a little more detail.

A revolutionary ‘Zone Skin’ has been incorporated across the toe-box, which means that you get more ball control, swerve and power on the pitch. Engineered specifically to take your technical skills to the next level, nothing is impossible thanks to the rubber grips that have been expertly placed throughout, changing your game.

A powerful facet frame sits on the sole of the boot, which transitions weight and subsequently power to the front of the boot, equating to more power when the ball is struck.

A laceless collar is constructed from adidas’ premium Primeknit material, providing a comfortable and secure fit that’s also easy to step into.
