Charity Football Tournament in Churriana held to raise money for Real Madrid Foundation’s school in Kolkata!

The event will support the Real Madrid Foundation’s school in Kolkata, run in collaboration with the Indian Institute for Mother and Child (IIMC).

Real Madrid ambassador Álvaro Arbeloa has paid a visit to the 5th Charity Football Tournament in Churriana (Malaga) run by the Indian Institute for Mother and Child (IIMC) and Club Deportivo Churriana in collaboration with the Real Madrid Foundation. The tournament will aid the sustainability of the Real Madrid Foundation and IIMC’s social sports school in Kolkata (India) for another year. The school has been helping over 130 children since 2011.

Arbeloa said, “thanks to the collaboration of a range of sponsors, this tournament contributes to the sustainability of a project that changes the lives and futures of over 130 children every year, and that’s the most important thing.” The Real Madrid ambassador also had words of thanks for the project’s sponsor ROADIS, and José Muriana, CEO of the IIMC, for their efforts in maintaining the social sports school.

Former Real Madrid star José Antonio Salguero has been involved in the tournament for the seventh year running. Also in attendance were representatives of tournament sponsors, the CEO of IIMC, José Muriana; Gregorio Fajardo, president of CD Churriana; and representatives of Malaga City Council including deputy mayor and head of Mobility and president of the Churriana Local Government, Río Escobar; Noelia Losada Moreno, Local Delegate for Sport at Malaga City Council; José Luis Paradas, director of Sociedad Municipal Málaga Deportes y Eventos, S.A.; and Dolores Navas Becerra, of the Churriana Local Government. The Real Madrid Foundation were represented by managing director Julio González Ronco, and Rosa Roncal, head of the International Area.

The guests expressed their warm wishes to all the participants, who played their matches full of excitement and displaying the values of fair play and solidarity learned through sport. The event was sponsored by the following organisations: Medical Service, Ballesol, Ambulancias Andalucía, Hospital Quirón Ciudad Real, Jiménez y Davó Abogados and Restaurante La Batea.
