Another fixture in Chelsea FC’s pre-season tour of the United States of America this summer has been confirmed, with the Blues set to play Wrexham AFC in Chapel Hill, North Carolina as part of the 2023 FC Series.
The fixture will take place on Wednesday, July 19, prior to their three Premier League Summer Series matches, and the venue will be the University of North Carolina’s 50,000-capacity Kenan Stadium.
There will be an exclusive two-day presale for Chelsea FC fans to purchase tickets anywhere in the stadium besides the organised supporters section and hospitality suites. Fans can access the presale here from 5pm UK time on Tuesday 25 April using the code BLUE. A portion of every ticket sold will be donated to the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinic at UNC Children’s Hospital.
Wrexham AFC, one of the oldest football clubs in the world, have grabbed worldwide attention since being bought by actors Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds in 2020. They currently lead the National League with a couple of games remaining. Chelsea FC last played the Red Dragons in a pre-season game in 1984, won by Chelsea 1-0 at the Racecourse Ground. This will be the first meeting on neutral territory.
