Could there be an England C role for Dev Trehan?

Talent reporter Dev Trehan could be in line for a role with the England C team, sources have told Arunfoot.com .

The England C non-league side head to Llanelli to play Cymru (Wales) C in March 2024 with Paul Fairclough returning as manager, assisted by former Dagenham and Redbridge captain Anwar Uddin, who is the first British-Bangladeshi to play professional football in England.

FA Level 2 scout Trehan is one of the leading advocates for British South Asians in Football and has used his platform at Sky Sports News to elevate the community’s profile and status in the English game.

Trehan, who was recently appointed to the Diversity Power List, is the only dedicated spotter of South Asian female talent in British football and has previously signposted players towards both the Football Association and the Pakistan Football Federation, but couldn’t do the same for the All India Football Federation due the Government of India not allowing Players of Indian Origin (OCI) to represent India in football.

Trehan has also worked closely with England technical talent scout Jas Batt, assisting Batt with preparations for the debut of the Apna England Lionesses team at the FA’s St George’s Park where the most capped player in England football history, Fara Williams, featured as a guest player.

England’s regular series of matches with Cymru C commenced in 2018, but was disrupted due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

This will be the fifth meeting between the teams since then, with England leading the series 2-1 after a 1-0 win on home soil last year.

If Dev Trehan joins the England C team, it would be a great chance for South Asian talent in non-league football to potentially get a call-up.
