Chennaiyin FC have strengthened their squad with the signing of Brazilian forward Ramon Tanque on loan for the 2026-27 season, adding a proven attacking option ahead of the upcoming campaign.
The 27-year-old striker joins the Marina Machans from Indonesian champions Persib Bandung, where he was part of the club’s title-winning 2025-26 campaign. Tanque made 28 appearances across competitions last season, scoring eight goals in the Indonesian Super League and contributing to Persib’s successful title defence. Before his move to Indonesia, Tanque enjoyed an outstanding campaign with Cambodian side Visakha FC. He finished the 2024-25 Cambodian Premier League season as the competition’s top scorer with 21 goals in 28 appearances, while also registering five assists. His performances earned him the league’s Golden Boot.
Born in Belém, Brazil, Tanque began his professional career in his homeland before moving to Europe, where he represented Austrian side FC Dornbirn. He subsequently moved to Asia, establishing himself as a consistent goalscoring threat in both Cambodia and Indonesia. A strong and physical centre-forward, Tanque brings a combination of power, movement and an instinct for finding the back of the net to the Chennaiyin FC attack.
Chennaiyin FC Co-Owner Vita Dani said:
“Ramon is an important addition to our squad and gives us another quality option in attack. He has demonstrated his ability to score goals consistently and has also experienced what it takes to compete for and win titles. We believe his qualities and mentality will complement our squad well, and we are pleased to bring him to Chennai. We look forward to seeing him contribute to the team’s ambitions this season.”
Speaking to the club, Ramon Tanque said:
“I am very happy and motivated for this new challenge in my career. It will be my first time playing in India, and I am excited about this opportunity. My goal is to help Chennaiyin FC return to a winning path and achieve success again. I know the challenge ahead is a big one, but I am truly encouraged by the project that the head coach and the club’s management presented to me. I am looking forward to arriving, starting work, and giving my best alongside my new teammates. I would also like to thank everyone at the club for their trust and confidence in me. I am ready for this new chapter and eager to contribute to the success of Chennaiyin FC.”
Ramon Tanque becomes Chennaiyin FC’s 13th signing ahead of the 2026-27 season, further adding to the squad assembled by the Marina Machans as they prepare for the new campaign.
