Bundesliga builds on multi-platform distribution in Brazil!

The Bundesliga has confirmed its full media partner line-up for Brazil ahead of the 2026-27 season, continuing the multi-platform distribution model that has helped make the Bundesliga the most-watched European football league in the market.

First introduced in 2023, the model deliberately combines established and new partners across pay-TV, free-to-air, digital and pay-per-view platforms, reflecting the diverse ways in which Brazilian fans consume football.

The full line up incorporates the prolongation of CazéTV, sportv (Globo), SportyNet, Canal GOAT, and OneFootball until the conclusion of the 2028-29 season. XSports’ existing agreement with the league also remains in place, complemented by the newest additions of Jovem Pan, which will show a range of Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 matches throughout the season, and RomárioTV, fronted by one of the greatest legends of Joga Bonito and broadcasting one Bundesliga and one Bundesliga 2 match per matchday.

Broadcasters, Bundesliga matches and distribution modes

  • Sportv:2 matches, Pay-tv
  • Sportynet:3 matches, Pay-tv + digital free
  • CazéTV:2 matches, digital free
  • Canal Goat:4 matches, digital free
  • RomárioTV: 1 match, digital free
  • Jovem Pan:1 match, digital free + free-to-air
  • XSports:2 matches, free-to-air
  • OneFootball:9 matches, Pay-per-view

The new agreement delivers a significant increase in media rights revenue while maintaining the broad market exposure that has become a hallmark of Bundesliga distribution in Brazil. Since the first season of the league’s extended broadcaster strategy in 2023-24, media rights revenues have quadrupled.

At the same time, audience reach continues to reach new heights. Bundesliga matches now generate more than five million live views per matchday, with digital-free distribution serving as the primary driver of growth. Under the new cycle, all nine Bundesliga matches per matchday will be once again available through a wide range of channels in Brazil, ensuring fans across the country enjoy greater access than ever before. At this year’s Franz Beckenbauer Supercup, CazéTV recorded more than 2.4 million total views, a 120% increase compared to the previous year.

The strategy is also translating into sustained fan growth. The Bundesliga’s fanbase in Brazil has doubled since 2018, from 12 million to 24 million. Broad distribution has been an important driver of that development, supported by local-language content, broadcaster collaboration, club activities and fan-focused activation across the market.

“Brazil has become a powerful example of what is possible when reach, fandom and commercial growth reinforce each other rather than being treated as trade-offs,” said Robin Austermann, Bundesliga Americas Executive Vice President.

“Our approach is built around the way Brazilian fans consume football: combining established broadcasters with free-to-air, digital and pay-per-view partners, and supporting that distribution through local content, club activities and fan engagement. The results speak for themselves – our fanbase has doubled and media rights revenues have quadrupled. We will continue to develop this model together with our partners in Brazil.”

Beyond distribution, the Bundesliga has continued to invest in its presence on the ground in Brazil. Last season, both RB Leipzig and Bayer 04 Leverkusen hosted their summer tours in Brazil – the first European clubs to play international friendlies there for more than a decade. Furthermore, the Bundesliga has become a core part of the Oktoberfest in Blumenau, one of the largest celebrations outside of Germany, delivering German football culture beyond the traditional live broadcast. Alongside Leverkusen, the Bundesliga is also present on social media with a dedicated Portuguese-language TikTok account, while the Bundesliga Common Ground pitch, established in Rio de Janeiro in 2023, has been used by the local community, as well as league and clubs, regularly over the last three years.

Brazilians are also the Bundesliga’s most represented nation outside of Germany, with 176 players over the course of the league’s history, including FIFA World Cup winners Lucio and Paulo Sérgio.
