Delhi Dynamos retain defender Anas Edathodika & goalkeeper Sanjiban Ghosh!

Delhi Dynamos FCIndian Super League franchise Delhi Dynamos FC have retained their star defender Anas Edathodika and young dynamic goalkeeper Sanjiban Ghosh for the third edition of the ISL.

Anas was dubbed as the ‘Great Wall of Delhi’ during ISL-2 for his heroic attempts of keeping the Delhi Dynamos defence steady and was also chosen for the Indian Senior Team probable for the 2015 SAFF Cup. He evolved as a defender playing alongside legends like John Arne Riise in the last season, and received constant guidance by teammate Florent Malouda. In his 14 appearances for the Delhi Dynamos in ISL-2, Anas made 46 tackles, 24 interceptions and 164 clearances. His passing accuracy was recorded at 88.44% and he scored one goal during the season against Pune City FC at home.

Anas Edathodika expressed his gratitude by stating, “I am glad to be back in Delhi and like to thank the club for giving me the opportunity to showcase my skills again this season in front of our wonderful fans. I am hoping this season we will be able to thank the fans for their support by lifting the ISL Season 3 Trophy.”

Injuries to goalkeepers in the Delhi Dynamos squad meant Sanjiban Ghosh was signed by the Dynamos in 2015 as a replacement and he immediately managed to impress the technical staff and management with his performances on field and at training. The young keeper from Bengal made three appearances for the Delhi Dynamos in ISL-2, held one clean sheet and made 14 saves overall.

“I am happy to be back with Delhi Dynamos FC. I hope to play a lot more games this season and keep as many clean sheets as possible. I am fit and ready for season 3 of the Indian Super League,” Sanjiban Ghosh was quoted as saying on being resigned by the ISL franchise from the capital.
