Delhi Dynamos sign Spanish striker Aridane Santana!

Delhi Dynamos FC have confirmed the signing of Spanish forward Aridane Santana from Cultural Leonesa. The 32-year-old striker has played across multiple divisions and teams in Spain before making his move to Asia.

He has had the experience of playing in Thailand, where he played for the Bangkok Glass FC and scored nine goals in 16 appearances.

Santana’s longest association however has been with the Segunda Division club CD Tenerife, where in he played for three years from 2012 to 2015, making 130 appearances and scoring 44 goals.

He joined Leonesa last season and scored nine goals in 21 matches. And now with Indian Super League, Santana is all set for his second stint in Asia.

“I am really happy to be in India. The Indian Super League is a very promising league and I hope to score as much as possible for my team. I have watched the team’s play last season, and I believe I will not disappoint coach Gombau and the team with my gameplay,” said Santana after signing up for the Delhi challenge.

Aridane comes to the team from the Aspire Academy set-up, who has been the technical partners of Delhi Dynamos FC for the last two seasons.

Speaking on the transfer, the Director General of Aspire Academy, Ivan Bravo said, “Aspire Academy is committed to support and enhance our Technical partner, Delhi Dynamos FC. Continuing with the same, we have arranged a loan of the striker, Aridane Santana, to Delhi Dynamos FC. His addition will not only bring quality into the game, but will also help the Club link the missing dot in the fantastic squad that they already have.”
