Delhi FC beat East Bengal FC in 2-0 RFDL victory!

Delhi FC put on a quality performance as they secured a 2-0 victory against East Bengal in a thrilling match in the Reliance Foundation Development League. The match, which featured two of the top quality sides in the league, was a true test of skill and determination.

East Bengal on pen and paper with the likes of players like Gunraj Grewal, Aman CK, Tanmay Das, Shyamal Besra and Sayan Banerjee who featured in the Indian Super League, looked to be strong, but Delhi FC were determined and focused as always.

From the first minute, it was clear that Delhi FC came to play. With precision passing and relentless pressure, they controlled the game from start to finish.

It was Dhruv who opened the scoring with a brilliant goal at the 26th minute mark, setting the tone for the rest of the match.

Despite East Bengal putting up a fight, Delhi FC continued to create numerous chances and dominate the midfield. Their efforts were rewarded when Samson found the back of the net at the 72nd minute, doubling their lead and putting the game out of reach for their opponents.

It was a task to hold on to he lead as recent memories saw them scoring 2 goals against NorthEast United FC as well who had the services of players having ISL experience like Dipesh Chauhan, Macarton, Manvir, Bekey Oram, Thoi Singh and Dinesh, but some hard luck on the cards cost Delhi FC 3 points, but they secured a point from the game.

This tine ofcourse Delhi FC wanted all 3 points and it was a clinical display at the back. Not only did Delhi FC showcase their attacking prowess, but they also displayed a solid defense, resulting in a clean sheet for the team. This impressive victory will undoubtedly boost the morale of the Delhi FC squad as they look ahead to future matches in the Reliance Foundation Development League.
