Delhi FC beat Hindustan FC, maintain top spot & 100% record in Delhi Premier League!

After making a stunning comeback against Royal Rangers FC in the last game, Delhi FC arrived at the Ambedkar Stadium to play their sixth game in the Delhi Premier League, boasting a 100% record until now and staying top of the table throughout.

The game began in typical fashion with Delhi FC keeping hold of the ball and knocking it around in style.

In the 22nd minute, Delhi FC had a good chance through Rinreithan Shaiza as he ran in from the left, cut inside and took his shot with his right. It was close, but the goalkeeper made a good save as he went down to save it to his right.

The breakthrough arrived in the 25th minute after some good work down the right opened up the opportunity inside the box. The first shot was saved, but the loose ball fell to the feet of Himanshu Jangra, who buried it to make it 1-0 to Delhi FC.

They were knocking on the door and pushing hard for a second, but it didn’t come to fruition and at half-time the scoreline read 1-0 in favour of Delhi FC.

Delhi FC created a good chance from a free-kick in the 65th minute, as it came looping into the box from the left, but nobody was able to get a telling touch on it.

Delhi FC were looking dangerous from set-pieces and they got their second soon after from another free-kick. Dicka’s free-kick was saved by the goalkeeper, but the rebound fell to the head of Karandeep Singh, who directed it into the back of the net from closed range to put Delhi FC 2-0 ahead.

They executed another great move in the 75th minute and put the game to bed, as some neat play down the flanks saw the cross go into the feet of Arthur Kouassi, who made no mistake in making it 3-0 with his left foot.

With that, Delhi FC got their sixth consecutive win in the Delhi Premier League. They are top of the table and will next play Sudeva Delhi FC.
