Delhi FC start Delhi Premier League campaign by thrashing Tarun Sangha 4-0!

Delhi FC began their Delhi Premier League campaign with a fixture against Tarun Sangha, who they’d beaten not long ago in the Football Delhi Senior Division.

Delhi FC were dominating the game right from the word go, passing the ball around nicely and keeping possession of the ball.

They managed to create a few half-chances in the first quarter as they looked particularly threatening down the left-hand side, with Nikhil Mali and Himanshu Jangra both dribbling and putting dangerous crosses into the box.

Delhi FC’s first real opportunity fell to the new boy Arthur Kouassi, as some great work down the right opened up the chance for the striker, who sorted the ball out of his feet in time but couldn’t find the target.

In the 25th minute, Himanshu Jangra made a darting run down the left, skipping past three challenges, and then fed the ball in the path of Arthur Kouassi, who took one touch and lashed it into the net. Delhi FC took the lead.

A few minutes later, a mix up between defender and goalkeeper led to the latter handling a backpass, giving Delhi FC a free-kick from inside the box. Mali laid it off to Jangra, whose shot went straight into the Tarun Sangha wall.

Sukki then was in behind the defence, he cut the ball back unselfishly and played it into the path of Kouassi again, whose first-time effort was saved by the goalkeeper.

Delhi FC were looking fully in control and went into the break with a 1-0 lead.

After the restart as well, it was all Delhi FC.

They created plenty of chances, but the second goal finally arrived in the 68th minute, as a long ball forward from the goalkeeper went to Dipanda Dicka, who put it on a plate for Sergio Barboza to tap it in for 2-0.

On the 75th minute mark, Delhi FC went three up. A beautiful flick from Jangra set off Barboza on the right, who turned provider for Dicka this time, and the Cameroonian made it 3-0.

Inam then played another long ball forward which found Lal, who crossed it in for Dicka to make it 4-0 in the 84th minute.

That wrapped up a comfortable victory for Delhi FC, who started off their Delhi Premier League campaign with a resounding 4-0 victory against Tarun Sangha. They play their next game on December 15 against Uttarakhand FC.
