On May 20, 2020; Cyclone Amphan has devastated major portion of the South and North 24 Parganas with Sundarbans suffering the most and probably the destruction caused is irreparable.
As the entire state of West Bengal stands united in this fight to rebuild Bengal, EAST BENGAL the REAL POWER (EBRP) decided to join the campaign too in our own way. Keeping in mind the tradition of EBRP to stand tall and deliver it’s best in various social responsibilities we have devoted ourselves in the quest to rebuild Bengal with our very own campaign named as “Ctrl + Z Bengal”.
EBRP initiated this campaign on May 24 by collecting funds from East Bengal supporters around the globe. The fund collection process is still on and people have responded superbly and with utmost generosity. In the initial phase EBRP saw donations amounting to more than INR 100,000 (1 Lakh) in just 96 hours.
The first phase of this initiative has already been executed on June 4/5. In collaboration with Ram Krishna Mission, Narendrapur we arranged a two day community kitchen in the Garankoti Village of Kultali Block, South 24 Parganas. Our initial arrangement was to feed lunch and dinner on one day but after visiting and seeing the plight of the people, EBRP decided to replicate the same on the next day and so instead of the planned 1,000 plates, we actually arranged for 2000 plates of food on the above mentioned dates consisting of both lunch and dinner for the people affected severely due to devastation by Amphan.
Now with the first phase being executed well we are planning for the second phase. In this forthcoming second phase a team of EBRP will travel to the interiors of Sundarban with relief materials for our brothers and sisters spending countless sleepless nights under the open sky, without food, without drinking water, struggling with all might to survive. EBRP are also trying to revive a few ponds for them to re-start their lives, thereby pressing the Ctrl-Z in their lives.
