Enes Ünal completes permanent move to AFC Bournemouth!

AFC Bournemouth have announced striker Enes Ünal has joined the club on a permanent deal.

The 27-year-old initially arrived on loan from LaLiga side Getafe CF back in January, and the club can now confirm the Turkey international has signed a four-year contract at Vitality Stadium.

AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said, “We have been very impressed by Enes during his time with us over the past few months.”

“His work rate and attitude have been exemplary following a long period of injury rehabilitation, and his desire to succeed in Premier League has been clear to see throughout.”

“He has proved to be a great addition to the playing squad here and we are delighted to confirm that he joins us on a long-term contract.”

“We wish Enes all the best for the summer and look forward to welcoming him back in July.”

Ünal, who made 17 appearances for AFC Bournemouth in all competitions last campaign, shared his delight at making the move permanent.

He said, “I’m so happy to be heading back to Bournemouth for the new season.”

“I enjoyed testing myself in the Premier League while regaining my fitness, and now I am really excited for the years ahead.”

“The project here is something I was keen to be a part of back in January, and I think that we have great potential together to improve further.”

He netted his first goal for the Cherries with an alert finish in the dying moments against Sheffield United, ensuring Andoni Iraola’s side came back from two goals down to record a 2-2 draw in the Premier League.

Four days later, he played a pivotal role in the club’s historic 4-3 comeback victory over Luton Town.

Having been introduced at half-time, Ünal’s precise pass allowed Antoine Semenyo to run in on goal and fire home a dramatic winner seven minutes from time.

The former CF Villarreal and Real Valladolid frontman then starred as the Cherries beat Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0 to register the club’s highest points total in the Premier League.

He provided the assist for Marcos Senesi’s opener and netted the second goal in a 3-0 home victory over the Seagulls.

Ünal, who has been capped 33 times by his country at senior level, has also been named in the provisional squad for next month’s Euro 2024 tournament.
