For the fourth time, German kit maker ERIMA and Bundesliga side 1.FC Köln have presented an exclusive special carnival jersey, which highlights the deep connection of the club to the city of Cologne and it will be worn for the first time next Sunday, October 30 in a league match against Hamburger SV.
The focus of the Fastelovend jersey 2016/17 is the home of the association, the city of Cologne. In addition to jecken motifs, elements of the city were integrated into this year’s special jersey. The Cologne coats of arms (Kölner Stadtwappen) was prominently placed on the chest and also worked as a watermark in the jersey. On the sleeves there are motifs from the coat of arms of the city.
In addition to the Stadtwappen, the Cologne Cathedral and a Crinkle are also integrated on the chest of the jersey. The motto of this year’s Cologne carnival session “If you like us,” is a neckband in the collar of the jerseys. Matching to the jersey there are also shorts and neckties in the jecken design.
“This outfit embodies carnival and football, you can wear it as a costume as well as while playing. The jewellery elements make it special – especially jeck,” says ERIMA Managing Director Wolfram Mannherz. “We are very satisfied with the jersey and hope, of course, that the FC Cologne team is just as happy.”
Just before the start of the new carnival session on 11.11, 1.FC Köln and equipment supplier ERIMA traditionally call the fun looking fifth season (Närrische Zeit) is the beginning of the partnership with the presentation of the carnival jersey.
