FA Thailand’s Grassroots Week enriches children, coaches & community!

The Football Association of Thailand (FA Thailand) organised their Grassroots Week in February 2022 with more than 100 children and 30 coaches benefitting from activities that promoted and enhanced the skills and values integral to the development of the beautiful game.

A session to educate coaches on grassroots development and provide children aged 6-12 with fundamental training drills was held at the National Sports University Chiang Mai campus from February 17-20.

Coaches were exposed to topics that included the fundamentals of grassroots football, player development and injury prevention while the youngsters enjoyed small-sided 3v3 games and sharpened their overall skills.

FA Thailand also collaborated with the Right To Play Thailand foundation on February 26 to organise social activities focusing on football as a life development tool for the Rim Tang Rod Fai-Port Line community.

The Grassroots Week represents an essential pillar of FA Thailand’s goal to hold consistent activities, provide opportunity for young players and spread nationwide love of the game by cooperating with their respective provincial administrative organisations.

Their Grassroots Cares programme targets disadvantaged and disabled children as well as those who live at the country’s borders. It aims to empower participants with the confidence and knowledge they need to rise above adversity and become positive forces of change by creating enjoyable, educational football activities in a safe environment.
