The 2024 CONCACAF Champions League continued to set new benchmarks in the history of the competition, following the conclusion of the quarterfinals.

The historic qualification to the semifinals of Columbus Crew in an electrifying penalty shootout against Tigres UNAL, along with victories from Club América, CF Pachuca, and CF Monterrey, sets the stage for a thrilling finish.

Here are some interesting facts and figures after the second leg matches in the quarterfinals.

The quarterfinals of the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup recorded the highest average of goals since the 2011-12 edition, which was 2.3. In the 2024 quarterfinals, 30 goals were scored.

8 goals all-time

Andre-Pierre Gignac of Tigres UANL is the player who has scored the most goals all-time in the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinals with eight.

Club America forward Henry Martin, who also increased his tally, is next with six. Luciano Emilio (D.C. United) and Oribe Peralta (Santos Laguna, Club America) are next on the list with five each.

9 total appearances

CF Pachuca tied Deportivo Saprissa, Cruz Azul, LD Alajuelense and D.C. United for the most quarterfinals appearances with nine.

5 consecutive appearances

Tigres UANL participated in their fifth CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinals, the longest active streak and second most all-time behind LD Alajuelense (6).

Most wins all-time

Club America, collecting its 12th win in the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinals in the second leg with New England Revolution, surpassed Cruz Azul, and CF Monterrey (11 each) for most victories in this phase of the tournament.

Most draws all-time

Columbus Crew tied Los Angeles Galaxy and CF Pachuca for most draws in the quarterfinal stage with five. Tigres UANL tied Deportivo Saprissa and CF Monterrey for the second-most with four.

45 total goals

With their nine goals against the New England Revolution, Club America extended its hold on the record for most goals all-time in the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinals. Their tally now stands at 45 total.

Win with most goals on aggregate, series with most goals

A total of 11 goals were scored in the Club America vs. New England Revolution series, tying it for most on aggregate in the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinals. Pumas UNAM, also winning 9-2 during the 2011-12 edition, against Isidro Metapan is the other match.

7 penalty shootouts

Columbus Crew vs. Tigres UANL became the seventh quarterfinals encounter to be decided by a penalty kick shootout. It is the fourth two-leg series to be decided on PKs.

Countries with most participating clubs

The United States (19), Mexico (16) and Costa Rica (5) lead the way in participating clubs in the quarterfinals. Each country was represented in this year’s edition with Inter Miami CF (USA) making its quarterfinals debut.
