FC Bayern Munich open office in Bangkok!

FC Bayern Munich has officially opened its office in Bangkok, the club’s third outside of Germany. After New York in 2014 and Shanghai in 2017, the Thai capital will become the hub to better reach FC Bayern fans in Southeast Asia, India and Oceania.

Oliver Kahn, FC Bayern CEO, said, “The office in Bangkok is an important step for FC Bayern. Our roots are in Munich and Bavaria, but our goal is a sustainable, direct exchange with our fans around the world. Football connects people, and we’re delighted to be able to make our club and what it stands for more tangible for the millions of supporters in Southeast Asia.”

Andreas Jung, FC Bayern board member for marketing, said, “The enthusiasm for football in Southeast Asia is overwhelming, and Bangkok is the ideal hub for this region. We already know from previous projects that the name FC Bayern strikes an excellent tone in Southeast Asia. We’re looking forward to many joint campaigns with the fans and partners out here.”

Maximilian Haschke, head of Southeast Asia at FC Bayern, said, “FC Bayern doesn’t just want to be a partner from afar. For us, it’s crucial to establish a direct connection to the fans through intense local exchange. The opening of our office was preceded by over a year of intense preparations in Bangkok to get off to the best possible start.”

Enthusiasm for football in Thailand and the whole region is huge. Football is clearly the number one sport. There are currently 39 FC Bayern fan clubs in Southeast Asia. Germany’s most decorated club has previously organised the FC Bayern Youth Cup three times in the region (won twice by Thailand), the FC Bayern World Squad, several Allianz Junior Football Camps, various training courses for boys and girls, and numerous partner and legends events. The first team stopped off for a match in Singapore as part of the 2017 Audi Summer Tour, and FC Bayern once played a friendly against the Thailand national team in 2000.
