Indian Super League franchise FC Goa today officially made the announcement of the signing of talismanic India striker Robin Singh for ISL – Season 3.
26 year old Noida-born Robin Singh at a young age played both football and cricket, but when joining the Chandigarh Football Academy he decided that it was football for him. After being released by the Chandigarh Football Academy in 2005, robin joined the Tata Football Academy and spend four successful years in Jamshedpur becoming a striker and a junior Indian international.
In 2010 he joined Kolkata giants East Bengal Club and had three mixed seasons with them as a lot was expected from him, but he didn’t always deliver. He loved on to them newly formed Bengaluru FC and was a key player in the two seasons with them, winning the I-League and Federation Cup.
In summer 2015, Robin Singh was signed by Indian Super League franchise Delhi Dynamos FC after he had missed the first ISL season and he was a key member of the team which reached the semifinals, scoring four goals in 13 matches.
But following a serious injury he missed the 2016 I-League campaign, couldn’t return to Bengaluru FC and now after fully recovering, he has signed for FC Goa to play for the Gaurs in the third edition of the ISL with a lot of expectations behind the signing of the tall, lanky striker.
Robin Singh on his personal social media wrote, “Proud to announce that FC Goa is the next move, I can’t wait to get started on working with a team that I truly believe has the potential to go all the way this year. Thank you everyone who’s been beside me throughout! I’m blessed and honoured to have to you guys!”
