FC Venghnuai continued their climb in the Zote Honda Mizoram Premier League with a 6-1 win over Chanmari FC on Monday.
The struggles of Chanmari FC took a turn for the worse in round 10 at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium as they conceded four in the first twenty minutes. C. Ngurnuntluanga scored a quick brace while Peter Lalrinhlua and Malsawmzuala Tlangte added one each in an early onslaught. Lalbiaknia Royte scored one for Chanmari FC but their misery continued in the second half as Vanlalthanga scored from the penalty spot early on and Malsawmzuala rounded up the scoring by grabbing his second of the game.
The result sees FC Venghnuai climb up the table to second with 18 points from 11 games. Chanmari FC meanwhile are still at the bottom of the table with only seven from 11 games.
