CAF, FIFA and Fédération Congolaise de Football-Association (FECOFA) today held a constructive meeting in Cairo, Egypt to discuss matters relating to football in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The meeting was attended by a CAF delegation led by General Secretary, Veron Mosengo-Omba, a delegation from FECOFA led by Interim President Donatien Tshimanga, his Vice-Presidents, General Secretary, Technical Director and FIFA Head of Member Associations Governance, Rolf Tanner.
The meeting discussed a number of matters relating to Congolese football including legal and regulatory framework, governance, finance, marketing and competitions.
Mosengo-Omba said: “We thank the leadership of FECOFA for taking time to attend travel to the CAF headquarters to hold this meeting. I think we all got an opportunity to discuss important matters and come up with practical measures.”
FECOFA Interim President Tshimanga thanked CAF and FIFA for the opportunity to engage.
All the parties agreed on a roadmap to be implemented going forward in the interest of Congolese football.
